We're looking for...

  • Marketing Manager

    The role

    About

At Brightful, we help solve brand, content, digital and change problems for clients in complex industries. We partner with organisations in the consumer goods and technology sectors to plan, design, deliver and support content marketing operations for large companies looking to make meaningful change at scale.

You’ll be part of and supported by a friendly and inclusive team who are passionate about delivering incredible work to trusting clients. We’re experimental by nature and enjoy being openly innovative, trying new things and seeing what is possible. Self-development is important to us, so you can expect to spend a certain amount of time focused on you and your continuous learning.

Brightful is an equal opportunities employer that welcomes applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, or age.

    Our Marketing Manager

As our marketing champion, you’ll be customer-obsessed and focused on ensuring our proposition is not only relevant but front of mind with our target prospects (Martech leads in consumer goods and technology companies) as you help us build a highly qualified sales pipeline. You’ll be a self-starter who isn’t afraid to get stuck in and work tirelessly to build the profile of Brightful, our people and our services. You’re not someone who’s going to spend months strategising; you’ll know what it takes to build a plan and execute it from the off, tweaking and iterating it as time goes by.

This is a new role for us, so we’re looking for someone who can join us and take the lead with our marketing, working across the usual channels but feels confident to explore newer and less-used tactics too – experimentation, after all, is what we embrace! As we enter our next exciting growth phase, our marketing manager will play a pivotal role in helping us achieve our business and commercial goals.

You’ll have been working in a marketing role for at least the past 3 years, and you will be able to demonstrate experience and understanding of marketing a service business rather than a product-based business. Ideally, you will have some understanding of what it takes to deliver Content Supply Chain Programmes in large organisations, as well as an interest in understanding the latest technology developments with SAS platforms, such as Adobe and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Your aspirations will be high and the prospect of progressing from Marketing Manager to Marketing Director and building out a team over the next 2-4 years will appeal to you.

    The role

Working closely with the Managing Director, you will be responsible for:

    • Identifying and understanding the profile of our target audience, what keeps them up at night and communicating this to the rest of the business
    • Ensuring our brand proposition is as relevant as possible to our core market
    • Building and executing our marketing plan that gets us noticed and stays top of mind with them to add opportunities to our commercial pipeline
    • Co-ordinating and managing all aspects of our marketing plan across events, content, social and communications. Naturally, this will include areas like PR, case studies, thought-leadership material, awards and digital communication – but you’ll know this already
    • Making Brightful and our people as famous as possible, including personal and brand profiles
    • Tracking, measuring and reporting on marketing KPIs and communicating these back to the leadership team on a regular basis
    • Allocate and manage a marketing budget, ensuring a good ROI on spend and providing regular spend / forecast updates to the leadership team to help manage cashflow
    • Championing an exceptional customer experience for our clients, ensuring any interaction with Brightful is a positive one for everyone
    • Helping us create and deliver an unrivalled employee value proposition and make Brightful one of the most desirable places to workSome of the following knowledge and experience would also be helpful…
      • An understanding of web technologies and digital products
      • Experience in Adobe products, such as Adobe Express and Creative Cloud
      • Comfortable with the media landscape in the tech/digital and design sectors
      • Developing marketing and communications strategies
      • Developing and delivering content marketing activities
      • Copywriting skills and the ability to produce compelling content
      • Have worked in a busy agency environment or equivalent before and are comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously

This role will benefit from someone with some of the following skills…

      • Able to craft and communicate an interesting and engaging story
      • Comfortable defining a strategy and executing a plan
      • A good grasp of digital insights and performance analytics
      • Confident in producing written content – short and long-form
      • Basic graphic asset editing/creation.
      • Basic video editing skills, including adding subtitles
      • Events/Social/SEO/podcasting skills would be beneficial.
    • You…
      • Are an enthusiastic self-starter, proactive and adept at identifying and following up opportunities
      • Are well-connected, friendly, outgoing and brand-driven
      • Are a confident communicator – written, verbal and in-person
      • Deeply personable and thrive in building strong, meaningful relationships
      • Have meticulous attention to detail

      Benefits

      • Flexible working hours and options for remote working
      • A strong focus on personal development (a development plan, monthly 1:1s, quarterly + annual reviews)
      • Personal training/conference/book/resource budget
      • All the tools you need – a Macbook, peripherals and equipment
      • 30 days holiday (including bank holidays)
      • Regular team days and social events
      • Competitive salary depending on relevant experience and working arrangements
      • Pension scheme (3% contribution after 3 months of working)
      • Gym access (Winchester office)
      • Swimming pool access between May – Oct (site-specific, Winchester office)

At Brightful, we believe that work should be an enjoyable part of life, and we put effort and resources into making this a reality for our team.

Our friendly and supportive culture enables our team to do their best work and develop their skills. We are selective about the clients we work with, so we build rewarding relationships and work on exciting projects.

We invest in our employees and provide opportunities for them to grow. This includes formal training, going to industry conferences, and informal knowledge-sharing sessions.
